Jubilee Primary School

Jubilee School is a large community primary school in the London Borough of Lambeth. Our school of 460 children and 75 staff is a wonderful mix of people. People of different abilities, races, religions and cultures all share in the life of the school and we welcome everyone. We are committed to working with the local authority, local schools and the local community.

Jubilee School is situated on Tulse Hill close to a number of regular bus routes and within walking distance of Herne Hill, Brixton and Tulse Hill railway stations and Brixton underground station. Being within one hundred metres of Brockwell Park means that we have the privilege of a pleasant open space that we can regularly use for curriculum activities, sports days and picnics.

Our modern 21st century building opened in September 2002. Our environment is exciting and innovative for a local primary school. Our challenge is to shape it to meet the changing needs of our school community. We are sited between a newly built private residential estate and the Tulse Hill Estate. Our school was formed in 2002 as an amalgamation of 2 local primary schools and a special school for the hearing impaired.

We are a two form entry school with approximately 460 children organised into 14 classes, a 25 FTE place nursery, a hearing impaired unit and a children’s centre . Our children are friendly, energetic and caring. The rich cultural mix within the school is represented by Afro- Caribbean, African, Asian and European cultures. Jubilee School is an exciting place to be with many opportunities to develop for children and staff.

Our parents have high aspirations and are keen for their children to be happy and do well. They welcome enthusiastic and committed staff and respond accordingly.

Jubilee school community expects high standards of behaviour. We aim to work happily and safely together in an atmosphere of calm with high regard for work and achievement. All members of the school community work closely together to achieve this.
