Parentline Plus

Parents and carers can phone Parentline Plus's free helpline on 0808 800 222 any time of the day or night for confidential support and advice on any parenting problem. Parentline Plus's websites - www.parentlineplus.org.uk and www.gotateenager.org.uk provide parent to parent support and information including video advice from our agony aunt, blogs and online comics.

Professionals working with parents can refer parents for our extended telephone support service. This consists of up to six 45-minute, intensive weekly sessions with a trained support worker. The sessions give parents time, space and expert support to work through the problems they're having with their children and try out new ideas.

Calls can be about any parenting issue, from a child having problems sleeping through to violent behaviour or involvement in alcohol, drugs or gangs. The calls are free, confidential and they work. In an independent evaluation, 3 out of 4 parents said their situation had improved as a result of ETS calls, both shortly after the sessions and a year later.
