Youth Elections 2012 - Results!

The results of the 2012 Lambeth Youth Elections were announced by Lambeth's Mayor Cllr Christiana Valcarcel at an event on Friday 23rd March at Lambeth Town Hall.

The winner of the Youth Mayor election is Simone Lala, 14, a student at Bishop Thomas Grant School. The runner-up, and Lambeth's new Deputy Youth Mayor, was announced as Samuel Davies, 15, a student at The Norwood School.

Lambeth's new Member of Parliament is Keanna Williams, 15, a student at Evelyn Grace Academy and the runner-up and Lambeth's new Deputy Member of Youth Parliament is Elizabeth Boampong, 17, a student at St Francis Xavier College.

In total, a encouraging 8318 votes were cast online and across schools and youth clubs.

The majority of participating schools received a Schools Democracy Award for a high percentage voter turnout, but the highest turnout and Gold Democracy Award goes to Lambeth Academy where 77% of their pupils voted online during the elections.
