Youth Mayor Fund

Young people with youth mayor fund publicityEach year the Youth Mayor has a £25,000 fund to allocate to youth projects in Lambeth. The fund is open to people aged 13-19 years, who live or study in Lambeth and can be for any amount up to £6000.

To apply, the application must be made by young people and supported by a local youth organisation (school, college, youth club, youth project, church, or similar). This summer, our Youth Mayor and team of youth advisors worked hard short listing and interviewing applicants, and awarded funds to the following projects in Lambeth.

  • True Beauty Within, a young women's project based in West Norwood. This project aims to raise young women's self esteem and confidence through a series of workshops and activities.
  • Youth Alive, a youth club at Kennington Park Community Centre. The funding will help to equip the youth club, offering more activities and facilities for young people in the local area.
  • Mentoring Movements, a project providing dance therapy workshops to young people across the borough.
  • Victory Youth Group, a Brixton based youth group. The funding goes towards equipment to enable young people to create a video and deliver a teenage pregnancy awareness programme to local schools and centres.
  • Rathbone Youth Club based in Norwood. The youth mayor fund will support them to deliver a dance and drama project for disabled young people that attend the club.

The next round of Youth Mayor funding will be available from Spring 2012. Check this site for regular updates, or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
